Developer Status Update 10. 02

Welcome to this week’s Mosaic Chain developer status update. Below is a quick overview of what the team worked on this week, followed by what we’re planning to move forward with next week.

THIS WEEK’S PROGRESS (SEPT 28 – OKT 02)

✅ Mainnet Hotfix

– A frontend hotfix was released to Mainnet fixing failed teleports and dry-run errors when moving DOT and USDC to and from AssetHub; refreshing the frontend metadata restored the affected calls.

🔧 Blockchain Runtime Changes

These are protocol-level upgrades – they lay the groundwork for new capabilities but aren’t directly usable through the UI yet:

– The validator NFT auction house moved to testing, including auction indexing and the explorer view for ongoing and past auctions.

– mosaic-DID pallet integration continues, laying the foundation for on-chain identity for Mosaic Trust Network.

🖥️ Indexing

– The per-pool swaps endpoint and the faster catch-up optimization remain under testing.

– Block explorer statistics fixes moved to testing.

– Timezone handling for aggregated data moved to testing.

🎨 Frontend

– Implementation of the validator NFT auction UI has started, based on the new nft auction pallet.

– The transaction review popup remains under review – it lets users review the call to be signed and choose which asset to pay the fees in; a proxied call option for signing on behalf of another account is being added.

– Timezone handling for aggregated balance and reward data moved to testing.

– Talisman / NovaWallet signature support remains under review.

– The redesigned NFT page, persistent notifications, transaction overview chips and improved staking information are under review.

– LP tokens on the account details page, network-specific UI details, alongside smaller quality-of-life updates moved to testing.

– Fixes for changing the email address on the VPN controller are in review.

🖥️ Admin Backend

– The Unix socket admin API for chilling and unchilling a node from local scripts is in review.

– Remote shell access remains in progress.

– Multi-user support and the dashboard accessible on the local network are in review.

– File sharing through the dashboard remains under testing.

🖧 Infrastructure

– Public keys for the end-to-end encrypted peer-to-peer connection are being wired through the VPN controller (in review) and the gateways (in review), reducing our reliance on gateways.

– The Mainnet Nebula relay was deployed and registered in the Mainnet VPN controller; clients still need to be pointed at it, which will happen in next week’s update.

– Validator OS rework continues

NEXT WEEK’S FOCUS (OKT 05 – OKT 09)

🔜 Planned for Next Week

– Continuing the validator NFT auction UI implementation

– Continuing the indexer testing

– On-chain democracy pallet design

– Finishing the peer-to-peer public-key wiring in the VPN controller and gateways

– Continuing admin backend improvements (Unix socket admin API, remote shell, multi-user support, locally accessible dashboard, file sharing)

– Configuring Nebula clients to use the newly deployed relay in next week’s update

– Reworking Validator OS tooling (restore script, Debian packaging, Ansible removal)

Thank you for reading this week’s Mosaic Chain Developer Status Update. More progress and exciting updates are coming in next week’s dev update — stay tuned.
