Welcome to this week’s Mosaic Chain developer status update. Below is a quick overview of what the team worked on this week, followed by what we’re planning to move forward with next week.
THIS WEEK’S PROGRESS (SEPT 07 – SEPT 11)
🔧 Blockchain Runtime Changes
These are protocol-level upgrades – they lay the groundwork for new capabilities but aren’t directly usable through the UI yet:
– The validator NFT auctioning pallet is nearly complete and remains under review, which will let validators sell their validator permission NFT.
– mosaic-DID pallet integration continues, laying the foundation for on-chain identity for Mosaic Trust Network.
🖥️ Indexing
– A large indexer release containing many features and fixes is under testing.
– Liquidity pool reserve history and swap handling were merged and are under testing.
– NFT auction indexing is in progress.
– Optimizations are in progress, such as a faster catch-up process and block explorer statistics fixes.
🎨 Frontend
– NFT auction UI design is in progress.
– The validator dashboard now displays the Nebula certificate details, supporting the upcoming certificate renewal.
– The assets feature remains under review, and several fixes are in progress across the NFT list and liquidity pool page.
🖥️ Admin Backend
– Multi-user support is under review.
– Remote shell access is in progress, with a terminal through the admin backend in the pipeline.
– The validator dashboard accessible from the local network is under testing.
– File sharing for the admin backend is under review.
🖧 Infrastructure
– Nebula certificate renewal preparation continues, the current certificate expires within two weeks. Attention: Validators must verify on their own nodes whether the Nebula upgrade was successful. If someone’s certificate fails to update, their node will not be visible to us, and they will need to run commands manually to complete the update. Please keep an eye on our community channels!
– Experiments are underway for an end-to-end encrypted peer-to-peer connection to access one’s own node, eliminating the need for gateways.
NEXT WEEK’S FOCUS (SEPT 14 – SEPT 18)
🔜 Planned for Next Week
– Continuing the indexer release and testing
– Designing the validator NFT auction UI
– Continuing admin backend improvements (multi-user support, terminal/remote shell, locally accessible dashboard, file sharing)
– Working on mosaic-DID integration
– Renewing the Host certificates
– Reworking Validator OS tooling (backup scripts, maintainer scripts, removing configuration management tooling)
