Welcome to this week’s Mosaic Chain developer status update. Below is a quick overview of what the team worked on this week, followed by what we’re planning to move forward with next week.
THIS WEEK’S PROGRESS (AUG 24 – AUG 28)
✅ Mainnet Release: Multi-Hop Swap & Experienced Mode The trading features that were in testing last week shipped to Mainnet this week, along with a broad set of quality-of-life updates:
– Multi-hop swap – now live on Mainnet, enabling swaps that route through MOS as an intermediary asset in a single transaction.
– Experienced mode – now live on Mainnet, an optional setting that surfaces non-whitelisted assets for users comfortable with the added risk.
– Swap improvements: swapping to an exact destination amount and more helpful validation messages.
– Liquidity pools: removing liquidity now shows a warning, since it forfeits the swap fees that would otherwise grow the pool and increase the value of LP tokens over time.
– Several quality-of-life fixes also shipped: admin backend reconnection handling, VPN controller fixes, and token list updates.
🔧 Blockchain Runtime Changes
These are protocol-level upgrades – they lay the groundwork for new capabilities but aren’t directly usable through the UI yet:
– The polkadot-sdk update that was underway last week was released to devnet, along with a hotfix restoring compatibility broken by a new polkadot release, keeping the runtime aligned with the relaychain.
– mosaic-DID pallet integration continues, laying the foundation for on-chain identity for Mosaic Trust Network.
– The validator NFT auctioning pallet is in development, which will let validators sell their validator permission NFT.
🖥️ Indexing
– Council proposal data from the indexer moved to review, and council proposal info improvements were released to testnet, progressing the display of older and closed proposals that was in development last week.
– Liquidity pool history is being enriched with historical prices and swap history.
– Testing of the cross-chain indexing stack (outgoing XCM, incoming cross-chain assets, message queue processing) is nearly finished.
🎨 Frontend
– Cross-chain swap is in the planning phase, extending swaps across chains.
– Local dashboard access is in the works
– Historical liquidity pool prices and swap history is being designed.
– Talisman / NovaWallet support and fixes for the Paseo signing flow are under review.
🖥️ Admin Backend
– Multi-user support is in progress, moving towards role-based access.
– Remote shell access is in progress, enabling debug and maintenance commands on validator nodes.
– The validator dashboard accessible from the local network is in the pipeline.
– VPN controller improvements remain in the pipeline.
🖧 Infrastructure
– Mainnet coretime was renewed through October 18, securing block production for the coming months.
– Nebula certificate renewal is pending – the current certificate expires within a month.
NEXT WEEK’S FOCUS (AUG 31 – SEPT 04)

– Starting cross-chain swap
– Expanding the liquidity pool details view with historical prices and swap history
– Continuing work on the validator NFT auction house
