Welcome to this week’s Mosaic Chain developer status update. Below is a quick overview of what the team worked on this week, followed by what we’re planning to move forward with next week.
THIS WEEK’S PROGRESS (AUG 03 – AUG 07)
✅ Runtime Upgrade Released to Mainnet
This week's mainnet runtime upgrade introduces two important protocol-level capabilities. While the UI to leverage these features is still being developed, the underlying logic is now live on the network:
- Alternative Token Payments - users can now pay for network transactions using tokens other than the native MOS coin, adding more flexibility to how network fees are handled.
- Hardware Wallet Support - the runtime now includes the logic needed to support hardware wallets such as Ledger, laying the groundwork for improved security and self-custody.
- Default Validator Commission Rate Updated - the new rate was chosen by validators through an off-chain vote, reflecting community-driven governance.
Additionally, the airdrop pallet and minting service can now distribute LP tokens on Mainnet.
🖥️ Indexing
- Full cross-chain indexing testing continues - covering outgoing XCM events, incoming cross-chain asset events, and message queue processing.
- Liquidity pool indexing and assets pallet support are also being tested.
- Additional indexing improvements are in progress, expanding the scope of on-chain data available in Mosaic Explorer.
🎨Frontend
- Experienced mode is now being tested - an optional setting that surfaces non-whitelisted assets for users comfortable with the added risk.
- Multi-hop swap is under review - enabling swaps that use multiple pools in a single transaction.
- Liquidity pool historical price data and swap history are in development, expanding the pool details view.
- The transaction fee payment UI for non-native assets is under review.
- On-chain democracy pallet and frontend are in the planning phase.
- Various quality-of-life improvements reached testing: onboarding flow refinements, admin backend reconnection, and council proposal UI improvements.
- Admin dashboard improvements: multi-user support is in progress, remote shell access is in the design phase.
