Welcome to this week’s Mosaic Chain developer status update. Below is a quick overview of what the team worked on this week, followed by what we’re planning to move forward with next week.
THIS WEEK’S PROGRESS (JULY 27 – JULY 31)
✅ Coretime Renewed Through September
Mainnet coretime has been renewed through the end of September, securing block production for the coming months and giving developers and users a stable foundation to continue building on the chain.
🔧 New Runtime Release: Expanded Protocol Capabilities A new runtime is about to be released that introduces key technical features at the protocol level. The UI to leverage these capabilities is still being developed – they are not available to end-users just yet:
– Alternative Token Payments – the runtime now enables users to pay for network transactions using tokens other than the native MOS token, adding more flexibility to how network fees are handled.
– Hardware Wallet Support – the runtime now includes the logic needed to support hardware wallets, laying the groundwork for improved security and self-custody when interacting with the network.
🖥️ Indexing
– Full cross-chain indexing graduated to the testing phase – outgoing XCM events, incoming cross-chain asset events, and message queue processing are now indexed end-to-end.
– Liquidity pool indexing and assets pallet support are also on Testnet, bringing pool analytics and asset tracking one step closer to production.
🎨 Frontend
– Experienced mode is under review – an optional setting that surfaces non-whitelisted assets in the UI for users comfortable with the added risk.
– Progress towards Talisman and NovaWallet support continues.
– Onboarding was improved: new users will confirm which account they are onboarding.
NEXT WEEK’S FOCUS (AUG 3 – AUG 7)
🔜 Planned for Next Week
– Mainnet runtime release – bringing alternative token payments and hardware wallet support to Mainnet
– Rigorous testing of the new indexing features planned to be released.
– Finalizing the transaction fee payment UI for non-native assets
– Planning the on-chain voting pallet and frontend
– Expanding the liquidity pool details view with historical prices and swap history
